Dan Raftery has been a management and research consultant since 1985 when he joined Willard Bishop Consulting, Ltd. There he contributed to industry initiatives such as Efficient Consumer Response, Category Management, Direct Product Profitability and Customer Frequency Marketing (Frequent Shopper Programs).
He started Prime Consulting Group in 1996 and turned it over to his partner in 2003 when he launched Raftery Resource Network. At Prime, Dan “wrote the books” on Scan Based Trading, Invoice Accuracy, Unsaleables Management and Direct Store Delivery.
Prior to his consulting career, Dan worked for eighteen years in supermarket retail operations. He grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the UW.
Dan has authored over three-dozen reports on a variety of subjects for food, drug and housewares industries. His editorial columns and articles have appeared in: Grocery Headquarters, Advantage, Progressive Grocer, Magazine Retailer, Frozen Food Age, Confectioner and Refrigerated & Frozen Food Retailer magazines.
